OSOYOOS, B.C. A man and a woman were severely burned when a fire erupted in a local home Friday.
Canadian officials declined to name the victims, who were transported to South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver. They were later transported via helicopter to a regional medical center.
Neighbors said the fire broke out about 9 a.m. in a home the intersection of 87th Street and 92nd Avenue, records show. An ambulance arrived on scene about 9:30 a.m.
Osoyoos Fire Chief Rick Jones told Canadian media that the victims were badly burned and outside the home when he arrived on scene.
He credited neighbors for caring for the victims until the a BC Ambulance arrived.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
