MANSFIELD Douglas County fire crews have contained a Monday wildfire in the Jameson Lake area before it could threaten the city.
"As far as I know, all is well," Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal said Tuesday morning.
The fire that started Monday afternoon burned about 700-1,000 acres near the intersection of Jameson Late Road and Road 11 Northeast.
State mobilization was requested and Level 3 evacuation notices were initially ordered, but later canceled.
“The request was canceled when firefighters were able to cut a fire line around the blaze,” Gjesdal said. “Two outbuildings were consumed by the fire.”
Crews responded from Chelan and Douglas counties' fire stations and the Wenatchee Fire Department.
Gjesdal said nobody was injured in the blaze and that there were no road closures.
