LOUP LOUP – The Loup Loup Ski Bowl will open the 2015-2016 season on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 9 a.m. after the hill received several inches of new snow over the weekend.
The tubing run opened Sunday at the Loup.
"The Loup is open today for the season and snow conditions are excellent on groomed packed powder," hill manager CP Grosenik.
More snow is expected later this week due to a winter storm watch Thursday morning to Friday morning.
Current Base: 20 inches at the bottom; 26 inches on top with a season total cumulative snowfall : 42 inches
Wednesday temperature: 19 degrees at the base
Groomed runs: Ridge, Race Face, Stairway, Volunteer, Double Z and Loup Run.
The Terrain Park, Peanut bunny hill and JR Poma are also groomed.
The hill received 7 inches of snow over the weekend as of Sunday morning, said the hill’s website, skitheloup.com.
Hill hours are 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
The Loup will be open Dec. 18 through the Christmas holiday season ending Jan. 3, 2016, except being closed Christmas Day.
The hill’s regular operating schedule starts Wednesday, Jan. 6, and will be open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. through the end of the season.
The hill also will be open for Martin Luther King Holiday on Monday, Jan. 18, and the week of February 15, 2016, every day for the Presidents Day holiday week.
